On October 31, 2026, Yevheniia Fedotova, Vice President of the Liberal Democratic League of Ukraine, and activist Amir Ahaiev took part in the XVII Liberal Youth Congress (LGK) of the leading Turkish liberal youth movement, 3H Hareketi.
This year's congress was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of 3H Hareketi. For two decades, this organization has been advocating for the ideals of freedom, pluralism, and the right of every person to make a free choice. The event was held with the support of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Turkey (FNF Türkiye).
The focus theme of the congress was the concept of "20 Years of Youth without Freedom." The participants discussed the challenges facing Turkish youth, the state of fundamental freedoms, and the prospects for the development of liberal democracy.
Yevheniia Fedotova was a panelist during the session "Holding the Line: Young Liberals in a Hostile Environment." The discussion covered issues of youth activism, countering authoritarianism, and international solidarity. Perspectives on defending liberal values in complex political conditions were also shared by Anes Hodžić (European Liberal Youth, LYMEC), Farah Sinno (SWANA Liberal Youth Network), Amparito Sanders (International Federation of Liberal Youth, IFLRY), and Tarek Ismail (youth wing of the Al Hurriya Liberal Network, AHLN). The discussion was moderated by Salpi Özgür.

LDLU representatives also joined the discussion panel "Being Young in Turkey" and the working workshop "Shaping the Next 20 Years," where they analyzed the current situation and shaped a vision for the future in small groups.
The event concluded with a solemn celebration of the anniversary and the presentation of the Bulut Yöncü Courage Awards. The honors were awarded to individuals whose bravery and activities have contributed to positive changes in society.
We congratulate our colleagues from 3H Hareketi on their 20th anniversary. We express our gratitude for the invitation and look forward to further fruitful cooperation with the liberal youth of Turkey to build a safer future.
