On September 3, 2026, Hanna Tkachenko, Head of the Liberal Democracy Department of the Liberal Democratic League of Ukraine, participated in the international forum "African Encounters of Freedom" (Les Rencontres Africaines de la Liberté), held in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire).
The event, themed around rethinking freedom through the prism of human destinies, brought together researchers, government officials, entrepreneurs, students, journalists, and civil society representatives. It was organized by the Audace Institut Afrique think tank with the partnership support of the Atlas Network, the Ivorian office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), and the Centre for Research and Action for Peace (CERAP).
The forum was opened by Sidi Touré – Minister of Animal and Fishery Resources of Côte d'Ivoire and Vice President of Liberal International, followed by his dialogue with Professor Pierre Garello from Aix-Marseille University. The practical part of the meeting covered three key discussions: the development of more humane public policy, transforming the demographic potential of African youth into real prosperity, and finding a balance between personal freedom, initiative, and solidarity.
The LDLU team, which has been working with African partners for over a decade, deeply appreciates the opportunity to strengthen ties with liberal like-minded individuals and explore new approaches to shaping humanistic public policy. We look forward to deepening our partnership with colleagues from Côte d'Ivoire and the West African region!
