On October 18, 2026, a networking workshop titled "Ukrainians in Korea: Building a Community and Connections in Asia" was held in Seoul, aimed at empowering the Ukrainian community in South Korea.
The event was organized by the Liberal Democratic League of Ukraine in cooperation with Truth Hounds and the Center for Korean-Ukrainian Cooperation (KUCC).
The main topic of discussion was the challenges that Ukrainian activists and volunteers face daily in South Korea. In particular, issues of institutional, financial, logistical, legal, and political constraints affecting the dynamic development of the Ukrainian community were raised.
In a separate segment, participants discussed ways to overcome these challenges. These included new fundraising opportunities, enhanced coordination among Ukrainian communities in East Asia, and the expansion of ties with partners directly from Ukraine.
The LDLU team is ready to facilitate the institutional development of the Ukrainian community in South Korea and seek opportunities for implementing joint projects.
We thank the Ukrainians in South Korea for their systematic support of national initiatives and for building relations between our nations!
The meeting with the Ukrainian community in Seoul took place within the framework of the "Ukraine and East Asia: Bridges of Solidarity" project, implemented with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation.
