From August 7 to 9, 2026, the Eastern Europe Summit VI took place in Prague, focusing on strengthening Europe's resilience against current security threats. The event was organized by the Central European office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF Central Europe) and the youth liberal organization Junge Liberale.
The Liberal Democratic League of Ukraine was represented at the summit by Yevhen Abramov.
The platform brought together young liberal leaders for a comprehensive analysis of the political and strategic challenges in Central and Eastern Europe. Discussions unfolded against the backdrop of geopolitical instability, the erosion of the rules-based international order, democratic backsliding, and rapid digitalization.
According to the agenda, the participants' work was structured along three thematic tracks: European security, countering illiberal forces, and the impact of artificial intelligence on electoral processes.
Yevhen Abramov joined the first working group: "Europe as a Geopolitical Actor: Security and Strategy in a Fragmented World Order." The activities of this group focused on examining Europe's capacity to act as a unified strategic entity amidst emerging challenges and the convergence of security theaters.
The summit's workflow encompassed expert panels and practical activities within the Future Innovation Lab format, aimed at developing coordinated analytical solutions.
Following the event, the participants finalized a joint position paper. This document outlines concrete policy proposals aimed at strengthening democratic resilience, enhancing political cohesion, and asserting Europe's strategic capacity.
