On January 29, 2026, the leadership of the Liberal Democratic League of Ukraine (LDLU) took part in a consultative event organized by StateWatch, dedicated to coordinating approaches to sanctions policy and aligning priorities between civil society and public authorities for 2026.
LDLU was represented at the event by its President, Arthur Kharytonov, and Vice President, Yevheniia Fedotova.
The first part of the discussion focused on dialogue with key governmental stakeholders involved in sanctions policy. Participants included Viktor Steblynenko (Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine), Mykola Kravchenko (Office of the President of Ukraine), Bohdan Chumak (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine), and Pavlo Frolov (Member of Parliament of Ukraine).
The second part of the event was dedicated to strengthening the sanctions coalition among non-governmental organizations. In addition to StateWatch and LDLU, the discussion involved the Institute of Legislative Ideas, B4Ukraine, the Council for Economic Security of Ukraine, ANTS, Don’t Fund Russian Army, the Regional Center for Human Rights, VPHG, Razom We Stand, KSE Institute, and the Open Data Association.
LDLU is convinced that Ukrainian civil society must play a leading role in shaping a global standard for sanctions-based counteraction against autocracies. For this reason, our team will continue to actively contribute to the coordination of sanctions efforts together with partners and like-minded organizations.
